Abstract
Purpose : To analyze the effect of video characteristics on eye movements, by using the eye movement tracking device (eyetracker).

Methods : Sixty four adult males and females(22.44¡¾3.68 yr) who agree with the purpose of this study were recruited. The subjects viewed 4 videos with a playback time of 30 min and the counts of eye blinking, fixation, saccade, and pupil diameter was measured by using the eye movement tracking device (eyetracker). Two different videos (action and discussion) in relation to movement of objects were produced with high and standard definition, to distinguish the relative movement and resolution quality.

Results : When viewing action images, compared to viewing discussion images, the pupil diameter was larger(p<0.050), the number of blinks was lower(p<0.050), the number of fixation was higher(p<0.050) and the number of saccade was higher(p<0.050). However, there was no significant difference in eye movement according to resolution quality.

Conclusion : We found that the diameter of pupil, the numbers of blinking, fixation and saccade were different depending on the type of viewing contents. Therefore, it is considered that the characteristics of the viewing contents affect the factors related to eye movement.
